Mark the date on your calendars and join your student for a wonderful weekend on campus and in Macon!

October 1-3, 2021

Every year, Mercer University plans a weekend for families of our students to visit our beautiful campus and experience a day in the life of their student(s). The full schedule for this weekend is below. Registration is recommended for the weekend and is below.

Mercer Family Weekend 2021 kicks off Friday, October 1 at 5pm. Enjoy family friendly events all weekend! The schedule below is also on the website and will be continually updated as events are added.  

Please only purchase one family weekend ticket per family. That is a total of $20 (plus tax) for the ENTIRE FAMILY!

*All orders on Eventbrite may be refunded until Thursday, September 30. Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable and will not be refunded unless the event is cancelled by the university.

 Registration includes breakfast, lunch, tailgate activities, a discount card and the opportunity to purchase Family Weekend t-shirts for only $7.

**This year we will host a barbecue lunch on Black Field as part of tailgating for the football game. This meal will be FREE for all families registered for Family Weekend.

**Football tickets will need to be purchased separately for the game Saturday at 6pm. The link to tickets will be emailed once you register for Family Weekend. You will have home and visitor side options. Students are given one ticket in the student section. If you would like to sit with your student, please purchase a ticket for them.

**T-shirts may be purchased in person using cash or check (first come, first serve day of).

COVID INFO (subject to change as conditions change in the area)

University Masking Policy:

The University does not require fully vaccinated students, employees, and guests to wear masks in indoor and outdoor spaces on campus, except at the Student Health Centers in Macon and Atlanta. Vaccinated individuals may choose to wear masks on campus.

 Health sciences students and employees in clinical settings may be required to wear masks, even if vaccinated.

Unvaccinated students, employees, and guests are expected to take personal responsibility and wear masks in indoor common areas.

During Family Weekend (Oct 1-3) outside (non-student) guests are permitted in the common areas of the residence halls. We ask that all guests wear masks at all times, and do not enter individual rooms.

Family members that are experiencing COVID symptoms should not attend on campus events.

Though the university will take steps to mitigate possible exposure, please keep in mind that this is a volunteer activity and family members attending the event do so at their own risk. Individuals who are in high-risk populations for COVID-19 are encouraged to thoroughly evaluate their situations before choosing to attend an on campus event.

**Enjoy a free continental breakfast with SGA students!
9:45am Welcome Program with Senior Vice President, Dr. Penny Elkins // Willingham Auditorium
11am Family Weekend Gala Concert Hosted by Mercer Singers // Fickling Hall
11am-2pm Tower Tours // Administration Building
Head over to the Administration building and enjoy the view! Must be 14 years and older to climb the tower. Waivers on site.
1-4pm Barbecue Picnic // Black Field (feel free to come anytime to eat between 1-4pm)

Tailgate on black field before the game! Enjoy Free Kona shaved ice (1-5pm), free barbecue (1-4:30pm), live music, inflatables (1-5pm), Mercer giveaways and tailgate games for the family!
**Pick up Kona Ice Tickets at the Black Field Tailgate Tent from 1-4:30pm. Use by 5pm!
**2-5pm Free family pictures to commemorate your weekend at the Family Weekend picture booth on the Black Field with the Mercer Truck!
**Mercer Football KID ZONE on the black field from 1-5pm.
**See the Mercer cheerleaders and Toby the Bear at the tailgate after the bear walk!
6pm Mercer Football vs. Samford // Anderson Field, Five Star Stadium (tickets purchased separately through Mercer Athletics, discounts for all registered families!)

Macon has served as Mercer’s home since 1871, when the institution moved from its original campus in Penfield, Georgia. The beautiful, historic Macon campus houses the College of Liberal Arts, School of Medicine, School of Engineering, Stetson School of Business and Economics, Tift College of Education and Townsend School of Music, along with programs for working adults through the College of Continuing and Professional Studies. The Walter F. George School of Law is located one mile away on Coleman Hill overlooking downtown Macon.
