Mercer uses BearPulse to support community engagement for students, faculty, and staff. Use BearPulse to find service opportunities, track your on-campus and off-campus activities, connect with community partners, add campus and community-based events to the calendar, and more!
Login to BearPulse using your Mercer credentials by going to mercer.givepulse.com.

FAQS FOR USERS
- How do I access BearPulse?
Anyone with an active @live.mercer.edu or @mercer.edu email account has automatic access; all you need to do is claim your account. Go to mercer.givepulse.com and login using your Mercer credentials (just as you would for Canvas or MyMercer).
- How do I set up my account?
Once you login for the first time, you’ll be prompted to complete your profile. You can also edit your profile by navigating to the menu at the top right of the screen, clicking on the button with your name, selecting “profile” from the dropdown menu, then clicking the green “edit profile” button.
- How do I control my privacy settings?
In the Edit Profile section, select “Settings.” Locate the checkbox marked “private” and check the box if you want your account information to be private.
- I created an account with my personal email. How do I merge my personal email to my Mercer email?
First, log in to your Mercer account using your Mercer email address. Then navigate to the “edit profile” section. In the left navigation menu, select “Merge Accounts” and follow the instructions on the page.
- How do I log my community engagement activities?
On the main page of BearPulse, click on the green “Add Impact” button and fill out the form.
- How do I find opportunities to get involved?
On the BearPulse main page, you can see events and opportunities by clicking on the “Events” tab under the Mercer logo. You can use the list, map, and calendar buttons to the right of the search bar to control the format of how you see the events.
- How can I see a list of my activities?
BearPulse automatically populates a transcript/summary of your activities as you log them. You can view the list by clicking on the button with your name on the top right of the screen, then selecting “summary” from the dropdown menu.
FAQS FOR GROUP OR CLASS ADMINISTRATORS
- How do I customize our group or class page?
Navigate to your group or class page. Click the blue “Manage” button, and you’ll see the administrator controls. In the left navigation menu, select “Edit Group” to change details about the group. Use the dropdown menu under “Customize” to customize certain options within your page.
- How do I manage membership in our group?
On the “manage group” page, click “users” from the left navigation menu, the select “manage memberships” from the dropdown menu. Use the controls to make changes.
- How do I change administrators for our group?
On the “manage group” page, click “users” from the left navigation menu, then select “manage memberships” from the dropdown menu. Locate the users name in the list, then click the dropdown menu button on the far right of the grid. Select “make admin” from the list.
Note: Only a current admin of the group can make another person an admin. If you need help adjusting administrator settings, contact the platform administrator at BearPulse@mercer.edu.
- How do I log group service hours?
On the “manage group” page, click “impacts” on the left menu and select “add impact” from the dropdown menu. Click the “Group” tab at the top of the page and complete the form.
FAQS FOR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
- How can my organization join BearPulse?
If you are a non-profit in Middle Georgia, Metro Atlanta, Columbus, or Savannah and would like to recruit volunteers from the Mercer community, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of your organization, a brief description, address, and the name and email address of the person at your organization who will manage the page. You will receive further information about training for using the platform and expectations for engaging with Mercer students.
- How do I submit a volunteer request?
Go to mercer.givepulse.com, click the blue “submit opportunity” button on the top right of the page, and complete the form. If you have any questions about submitting volunteer opportunities, contact the Center for Community Engagement at email@example.com.
- How do I verify a volunteer’s impact at my organization?
In your page dashboard, click on “Impacts” in the left navigation menu, then select “manage impacts” from the dropdown menu. You will see a list of names of people who have claimed an impact (service hours, training, donation, etc.) with your organization. Use the dropdown menu in the far-right “Actions” column to verify that a person’s impact did take place. You can also dispute a claim or request more information from the person. If you have any questions about verifying impacts, contact the BearPulse administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
