Bear Blurbs and DMPs

Bear Blurbs, the campus-wide newsletter, will be sent each Monday and Thursday. If you would like to submit a Bear Blurb to be sent to Mercer Atlanta, Henry, and Douglas students on a rolling basis, you can do so here! The form must be submitted by Thursday of the week before you would like an announcement to be included in the following week's email. Email atlcampuslife@mercer.edu if you have any questions

Digital Media Players (DMPs), are TV screens located around campus that display campus announcements. If you would like your event announcement displayed, you can submit your request here

Please carefully read the submission guidelines below for Bear Blurbs and DMPs.

  • Submissions for the school year 2x weekly emails must be submitted by Monday at 12:00pm and Thursday at 12:00pm. 

    • If submitting flyer, it must be LANDSCAPE orientation

    • If you are starting from scratch, create a presentation in PowerPoint using the widescreen format (16:9).

    • If you already have a horizontal/landscape design, submit it in a JPEG or PNG format (1280x720 pixels). 

    • Text not to exceed 35 words –feel free to use this text to include links to additional information!

    • Text must clearly include date, time, location, organization/program/school, if sponsoring if applicable.

    • Contact information must be clearly listed.  (email address is preferred)

    • One graphic submitted in either jpeg or png format. Please, NO  portrait oriented or small text FLYERS! These images will possibly be resized based on number of items included in each email so please ensure graphic can be easily read if size is reduced.

    • If event/item is being submitted by a student organization, faculty/staff advisor contact and approval must be included.

    • PDF files are NOT accepted.  Submit JPG and PNG files only.

Campus & Residence Life posting policy info

All flyers, posters and banners must be approved by the Office of Student Affairs (Suite 104 in the Student Affairs Building) BEFORE you may post in academic or residence life buildings on campus. Campus Life staff will approve, stamp, and provide you with a list of approved posting locations for the Atlanta campus.  Organizations must place all other flyers on campus  on their own following the policies of each academic building. 

Event Accessibility Template (for all on-campus advertisements)

The following statement must be included on all flyers for on-campus events.

Attendees that need accessibility accommodation please contact the event organizer ___________at _______________. Please make your request two weeks prior to the event to allow coordination of services.  We will continue to provide accessibility accommodation to the best of our abilities with short notice.

When creating an event sign-up, please use the following message to allow participants to communicate accessibility and accommodation needs: 

Welcome to Mercer, we’re excited to see you at the event.  Attendees that need accessibility accommodation (alternate formats, accessible seating, captioning etc.) please contact the event organizer ___________at _______________. To best assist you, please make your request two weeks prior to the event to allow coordination of services.   We will continue to provide accessibility accommodation to the best of our abilities even with short notice.  We hope you enjoy the event.

Allergy Signage (for all campus events)

All campus organizations should include food allergy signage at events in which food is served. Virtual food allergy templates are available for your convenience here Please see Student Organization Policies for updated information about serving food on campus.

Please note that student organizations are discouraged from serving food that contains common allergens such as shellfish, nuts, and peanuts.
